The catch-22 of the SVX, or any AWD Subaru you want to keep in good condition, is that the merits of AWD in the winter are lost in trying to keep the car preserved. Sure, you can drive your very capable SVX through the snow, but you don't want to if you don't want the road salt to turn the body into a bubbling, crusty, hole infested rolling mass of iron oxide.
This article only holds true if there is such a thing as a disposable classic.
