I didn't strip it!!!!! I have never been this deep before, first time I've removed the pulley bolts.

What about: the bolt tightened up nicely after removing the stuff on the bolt threads?

I don't think the hole is stripped, cause the the re-insursion of the bolt was good.

If material was removed from the hole, would thread lock help in replacing that material?

Define "swarf":confused :
