Sport Compact Mag got 500 RWHP (dyno'd) on pump gas (third gear wheelies - woo-hoo). Another car (the XT guys might appreciate it for styling) is the 1st gen MR2 - supercharged version - I've never driven anything (street-legal) that felt more like a shifter go-kart than the 1989 MR2.

Lee,
I wanted to focus the discussion around the 'halo' model for each Japanese manufacturer in the US. Your argument for the inclusion of the MR2 Turbo and Celica All-Trac is good, but in that same light someone could also ask that the Eclipse GSX be included since DSM's can be tuned to well over 600hp on pump gas.
The Supra was the 'halo' sports car for Toyota in the 90's. The MR2 was just an inexpensive mid-engine car for the masses...which happened to be pretty darn quick in turbo form!
