Hopefully you can get a code. When my MAF went out I always got a code but the car never died. Just started missing like crazy.
There are some ways to repair and-or just clean a MAF but it is doubtful if cleaning alone would help your problem.
How 2's should show how bad solder connections can be repaired.
It still sounds like fuel supply to me, but you are too far away for me to tell
