I'll just say this: When males are 16, they tend to do not so smart things with cars. Considering the SVX is within your price range, yes, you should think about getting one, because they're awesome cars.
However, if you drive like a normal 16 yr old, you're going to get screwed my friend... if you race people a lot, try to fly around corner, or do anything else like that the car is going to turn around and bite your ass with HUUUGGEEE repair bills.
May I make a suggestion? Look into 2nd gen RX7s. Good on gas, huge performance potential, the aftermarket is there, and they're not too expensive.
