Apologies for a potential re-post, but I remember having seen a posting related to a part number change of the solenoid C some time in the mid -90's. After extensive searching I still can not find the thread.
If I recall correctly, the operation of the sol C was reversed and this was combined with a change in the controls.... does this ring any bells or have I been dreaming (again)

I have 4.444 tranny from a 1997 Outback and some weird binding issues (which do go away by inserting the FWD fuse).
