FWD tranbsmissions dont explode as easy as the awd ones do. Theres a woman in my town with a fwd svx that has the original engine and transmission. the car has 320,000 miles and counting. Running and shifting strong
my car has the fwd tranny too. No problems as of yet.
What kills the transmissions is heat. The heat is caused by added driveline friction and the weight of the car as well. Tranny coolers help reduce the problem, as does a lower geared transmission (4.44's cope with the cars weight better) the fwd tranny has alot less driveline stress and friction.
