Slightly OT...

But I was looking for more info on this warm up issue and came across an article in a book about the '49 Buick Roadmaster. Ya see, the ignition switch was connected to the gas pedal, so you had to put your foot to the floor and keep it there in order to start the engine.It would "always start with a roar." No kidding. I'm still trying to figure out if that was a marketing gimmick, or a necessary evil of the Fireball Straight-8. Kinda makes you appreciate fuel injection....











p.s. I usually warm her up for a minute while finding an appropriate radio station or CD, then go easy on her 'till she reaches operating temperature...C'mon fellas, its the same technique for the ladies
