That being said you need to pull the struts from the springs to find out if they are really good. the spring even when bad will pull the strut back out. If your bottoming out over bumps it sounds like the strut is also junk as it should cushion and absorb the movement of the wheel.

I thought that the springs were what absorbed all the bumps? I thought the struts were just there to keep you from bouncing constantly...so the only way to know is to take the suspension apart?
