I read your other post about the shift cable.

To make the car think that it isn't in gear. You need to first remove the 17mm nut and the bracket that connects to the shift cable. At that point you can move the indicator manually untill it shows N or P on the dash.
Try to start it, but realise that you may be in gear, so be safe
