An "assgasket"! LMAO!
Never thought of that aspect of a spring-loaded toilet seat. In a public restroom an ass-gasket is a critical component when performing a colon flush. The ass-gasket is the only thing protecting your vital components from harmful contaminants that flourish on the public tushie lifts.
Perhaps the home market would be a better place to sell the spring loaded toilet seat. Or you could always make one with a catch that would keep the seat down until flushed. Pulling the lever to flush would release the catch and allow the seat to raise automagically.

You can tell the lack of craftsmanship by the wrinkles in the duct tape.
