Question Synthetic oils

I am replacing the cam and crank seals along with timing belt and waterpump on my 96 LSi with 60k.The rear seal is leaking a little bit so I ordered one and will replace it soon.I would like to switch the car over to synthetic. My 93 Legacy turbo has had syn. since new and now has 151k runs great and NO oil leaks.Would I have problems with valve seals? I have heard switching to syn. from dino oil can cause seal probs. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Also the car had a bad pillow ball bushing in the rear lateral link.I am replacing them both, but I wondered if this is common. Wheel bearing seem OK though(knocks on wood)
Thanks BillC
