I believe the 1st letter in your number should be a J, not a Y.

The first 5 digits of all SVXs ever produced should be JF1CX

JF - Maker ID (Japanese / FHI)
1 - Type of vehicle
1 = passenger

C - Line (Subaru C line)
X - Body type (coupe)

There are no "I", "O", or "Q" allowed in any VIN, so the other digits are incorrect.

Digits in red below appear to be incorrect

Where did you copy this number from?

There should be a VIN plate on the driver's side dash, visible through the windshield.

There should also be a plate on the door jamb under the lock. This also shows the VIN and the date of manufacture. The 1992 model year uses an "NH, followed by the production sequence numbers (There is no "E")

There is another one on the front strut tower, under the hood.

The VIN as also stamped on the firewall, behind the engine

From your first date of registration in Germany, it is safe to assume it is a 1992. Check for the actual VIN plate on the door jamb for the month and date.

I have to say, that is one of the most thorough reads about the VIN number that I've seen in a long time. Great job, John.
