The factory disc brake kit comes with the pads and all necessary shims to do the brakes. It also comes with grease to lube the notches where the pads slide along the calipers. It's an easy job to change pads and to take off the rotors and have them turned. Some will recommend not turning your rotors because they feel that with less thickness to the rotor, it will warp easier. I had mine turned about two thousand miles ago when I replaced my pads and haven't had any problems since but I'm also pretty easy on my car.
