i know - i got some.

when i bought my house it had no doorbells, only two phone jacks (laundry room, bedroom), never had cable installed, and no outside outlets (still doesn't, next project.) the garage door opener was plugged into an adapter that was screwed into a lightbulb socket.

the good thing was, there wasn't a lot of hacked-up, half-assed stuff to fix/figure out.
