What would I do if I HAD to get more mpg out of a car ....let's see...
1. Buy "green" tires with less rolling resistance, pref. in a narrower dimension, and then use highest possible pressure in them.
2. Remove the outer rearview's ...! yes they DO count.
3. Making sure that everything in the engine, that has to do with fuel economy, is in top shape.
4. Check ALL bearings in the drivetrain, and change them if necessary, then relube both the new AND the old one's with a GOOD PTFE lube.
5. Change the oil in front & rear diff with the "slickiest" made and suited for the SVX.
6. Same for the engine.
7. Get a electric motor heater, like the ones that EVERY car has in the cold climate countries (like here
)
8. Get a "driving computer" that ypu can use to actually see the momen. gas consumption, and tailor your driving habits to get the most of every gallon of fuel.
