I just did my heater core last weekend. It really is not as bad as it looks. It is even easier the second time when you realize you forgot to put the bolts back in the metal support bar under the dash and have to take it all back apart. Really, though, the hardest part of the job is forking over the $280 to Subaru for the new heater core. After that you just need patience, a wrench, an extension, a 12mm deep well, a 10mm socket, and a screwdriver.
