I measured my car today. there are equal gaps on each side of the bushing. Using bushings cut equally that merely stiffer the rear rather than compress it will allow me to keep the factory height and still have it tight. Using the bushing on the top and one on the bottom will also relieve the stress on the stock bushing that Tom's mod is placing. I just don't like the idea of stretching out that bushing and risk tearing it especially when the roads get salted and colder weather sets in.
