Re: anyone actually use 2.2 pistons?

according to the chiltons repair manual the 1991 -96 svx and the 1991- 94 legacy turbo pistons have the same bore and stroke of 3.82 x 2.95

the dsiplacement of the 91-94 turbo legacy is 2212cc if you divide that by 4 you get a result of 553cc of displacement per cylinder.

the svx has a displacement of 3318cc, divide by 6 equals 553 cc of displacement per cylinder.

the difference in compression ratios are 8.0:1 on the turbo legacy, and 10:1 on the 93-96 SVX with a compression ratio of 10.1:1 on the 92 SVX.

so it looks to me like the block of the eg3.3 is the same as an ej 2.2 just with two more cylinders added on. As far as the combustion chambers being different between the heads, that doesn't make sense to me unless i am overlooking something here. if each engine has the same displacement per cylinder, same bore size, and same stroke, that tells me the cylinders are the same size, and therefore the combustion chamber of the heads are the same. according to the math here it looks as tho the eg33 is nothing more than a 6 cylinder variant of the ej22.

i have been researching this extensively as i am about to order legacy turbo pistons plus two from wiseco pistons for a turbo build of my own so if i am wrong please correct me now so i don't about 900 bucks.

anyways i hope this helps
