What are the condition of your pads? Get your rotors turned for like $10, and if you're pads are in ok condition, you'll be fine.

If the rotors are slightly wapred and your pads are worn as well, using the semi-metallic pad trick does work. These performance pads are much more abrasive than ordinary organic pads and will eventually 'smoothen' the surface of your rotors again.
