I'm with DoD...you'd have to hit pretty hard to actually bend the pipes. The heat sheilds definitely get bent up over the years and will not affect the exhaust system's performance. If the pipes are, in fact, bent up, then you're better off going to a custom exhaust shop and having new head pipes bent/welded up.
Check SVXFile's locker ("Harry's car") for the new system he just did for NEWSVX's car.
