As another option for you to try is what I did. Not having any plastic cleaner and being too cheap to go buy some, I dug out an old can of rubbing compound and a bottle of McGuire's white polishing compound. A few minutes rubbing with each had mine looking extremely sweet. They could still use the same on the inside of the lens but I haven't had the courage or the time to bake mine in the oven to get them open.
