flexplate...make sure you have both of the required guide pins installed when you replace it or you'll be replacing the flexplate again in the not to distant future (trust me on this )

p.s. you probably want to check to make sure the flexplate bolts are all tight before you go and pull the trans to replace the flexplate (to make sure the sound isn't because of loose bolts!). You check the bolts through the access hole at the top of the trans - it should have a rubber stopper in it and you'll see it when looking in on the passenger's side of the engine compartment, just below the throttle body.
