Since every vocalist, choir, musical ensemble & probably rap artist has released, at one time or another, a "holiday album" or two, or three; let me rave about one that gives me chills.
Some of you older timers may remember a NY prog/art rock group from the early '70s called Rennaissance. The female lead singer was Annie Haslam. She has an interesting story that I won't go into now. She also still has an unbelievable 5 octave voice that serves up some of the most beautiful renditions of Christmas carols, along with a couple of unknowns that I've ever heard, (Yeah, as if I've heard them all...). I don't think this CD is commercially available. It's called "It Snows in Heaven Too", & can be purchased at
www.anniehaslam.com. Her rendition of "Oh Holy Night" is worth the price alone.
Just thought I'd share, since I can't afford to buy ALL you SVXers a stocking stuffer this year.
Merry Christmas, Ron.
