I would think a minimum of $3,000 .. probably more. I paid less (what my mechanic who's been helping me *restore* my SVX called a "wholesale price").
The "wholesale price" is a result of two things .. me spending a decent chunk of cash with him over the past three months, and 2) he's gotten more and more interested in the car as it has come back to life so nicely
So, he was interested in seeing what it would look like, and he did me a favour (or so he says).
