First:
Jack up the front of the car (both wheels off the ground) put it in nuetral, and see if either wheel will turn, if one won't and the other will, check the side that won't turn, as it sounds to me like you've got a caliper stuck, which could have caused the axle to break in the first place.
If not that then your front diff has a problem....I betting on the stuck caliper, as the bad front diff wouldn't explain the broke axle.
