That's a good article, very interesting all right.
It was naive of them to imagine 200mph wearing such a wing. It's designed for track downforce, at very high speed it creates drag like a parachute.
When the VW Bugatti Veyron is trimmed for high speed runs the rear wing is pulled into the body and the suspension is lowered. What is required is smooth bodywork with carefully controlled airflow under the car.
The SVX would be no different. Higher speeds would be achieved with no rear wing and the door mirrors pulled in.
If memory serves one of our members Sonny [Sonar] in Sweden has recorded runs of over 160, running with a Porsche 911. [167 mph] I must look it up.

Anybody trying this should be on an enclosed track, and ideally would be using strongly upgraded brakes. SVX brakes are crap.
