Question BALL JOINTS > > > L o o s e ? ?

While replacing my front bearings recently, I noticed the lower ball joints and tie rod end ball joints were all very LOOSE! I thought they should be tight (hard to move by hand), but they all are very loose and easy to move. However, they do not appear to be so loose that they're clunky, just easy to move by hand.

Is this normal? Thanks for your help!

P.S. When replacing the tie rod ends (crown nut), I could not find a torque figure anywhere in the OEM shop manuals!!! I used 40 ft-lbs >> Is that OK?
