OK, you've squirmed long enough. "I believe" the first auto-dimmer offered on a production car was on the '54 Caddy, but I may be off by a year either way.
Another - The '57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser offered a unique, for its time, answer to the seat adjustment problem for multiple drivers.
