Well, my buddy is gone for the night and took his meter job with him. I did some more searching and apparently I could remove fuel injector cables one at a time until I find out which one doesn't make a difference to determine the issue or which coil pack is bad... (if that's what it really is).
I had someone else look under the hood today... his first words out of his mouth was:
"What the hell is that?!" in regards to the engine......
