Another thing I don't know about (just one of "billions & billions" of things I don't know) is if anyone ever determined that a WRX or other tranny did away for the need to lengthen the driveshaft?

well here's another one I don't know already. I have the LSD in my 92 LS-L, but if I put in a different unit (from a Legacy say) can it be just a flat out swap assuming I gave up the LSD (are you listening Tim Leary - sorry off-topic)?
Do the gears have to be swapped? Not sure I'm asking this right, but hopefully somebody understood.
