Not to threadjack, but I think you can pick up a new 4094 for less than $2300. A quick check over at Full-Race yielded a price of $1800. Still a lot, but that $500 saved could help afford some slick mandrel-bent piping to attach it to a fancy manifold.
As for comparable turbos, you could look at the SP67 (not really a huge difference power-wise, but perhaps you could come across a good deal on one).
