I'd also be sure to replace the upper hose and check my motor mounts. Plastic becomes weak with age and heat cycles. Soft motor mounts and a hard hose can quicken the death of a radiator. Honestly, I don't think you'll find many factory radiators much cheaper than $500 and assuming it is the original lasting at least 16 years is pretty darn good.
