Of course it bothers you - something's wrong with the car. Saying 'it's nothing major' doesn't make it so.

First of all, as other people have already told you, the fuse disables duty solenoid C, which provides the hydraulic pressure applied to the transfer clutch. The transfer clutch is what sends power to the rear wheels.

So, when the fuse is in, no power is sent to the rear wheels - the car is essentially front-wheel-drive.

That vibration is most likely caused by the transfer clutch binding. This is a sign of a bad duty solenoid C. When you put that fuse in, it disables duty solenoid C, so the binding goes away.

Most likely you need to have duty solenoid C replaced. I would also replace the transfer clutch. The labor is pretty much the same and the added cost of parts should only be about $150. In total, I think you should expect this repair to cost about $500, although I have heard of people paying $700.

Your alternative is to just drive around with the FWD fuse in all the time from now on. But understand that, in time, this will probably destroy your transfer clutch anyway. Destroyed transfer clutch = more clutch debris circulated in the fluid = earlier transmission failure.

That's my opinion, anyway.
