You don't hear people compare the two types of steering very often but it does make a huge difference in the way the car feels and drives. I drove an L a few years ago and noticed it right away. My LSi is easier to control at both lower and higher speeds, and this is not imaginary. It's real as evidenced by you noticing it right away. The speed sensitive just 'feels' better.
