Re: tranny up or down?

ya trust me drop it from the bottom, unfortunately here's the bad news.
The tranny (weighs 250lbs... i weighed it) is friggen tall cause of the bellhousing. your gonna have to need blocks for the jackstands if you are using tranny jack to help get it out, if you wanna just drop it out of the car and not care about it, your fine with regular height of a 3ton jackstand.

To take the tranny out you'll need to disconnect the exhause from where the precats meet the header to the ypipe cat, that will give you enough room to work with,
The driveshaft luckily is a 2 piece so you can disconnect it after the bearing.
the axel pins... be careful you can mushroom them in there. my preference is using a robertson screw driver and a hammer. but make sure to have the wheels on the ground b4 you take off the axel nuts unless you have someone to step on the brake for you.

And dont repeat my mistake of taking the tranny out while having the TC still bolted on. its a nightmare.

I think thats all the advice i can give other than to be careful and dont crush yourself.

oh, draning the transmission fluid will help a bit with the weight i guess.
