I'm not an audiogeek, so I say any non-corroded thicker speaker wire is fine...but as for picture quality, I had a friend with a laptop, and it had an S-video port. To hook it up to his TV, he bought an S-video RCA adaptor. Results: Crap. Everything is blurry and fuzzy. So last summer (when we were roommates) we used my TV, and just a straight S-video cable to my TV. Better, but still crap. To get good picture I'm sure you'll have to use better cables, or get one of those AVI thingies.
