How bad was the side jump? I guess my Elantras may do the same thing, but I don't notice it to be more severe than any other small FWD car.

It's strange that you mention the Cruze as it was the other car my buddy and I both considered. He was looking at a 2LT or LTZ (if it came in manual), but didn't want to see himself coming and going. I was looking at the ECO 6MT, but almost bought a base model LS with 1.8L NA engine. The Cruze seemed peppier than the Elantra GT. Other than features that pretty much come standard in all new cars, I wanted satellite radio. The pre-owned Elantra GT base model won because it also had alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, and heated seats.

3 months later, i still have the base GT and use it as my good weather daily driver. At 81k miles, it is still surprisingly tight, unlike the rattly 71k mile Legacy.
