Yes your rear wheel drive is not working properly.
Now if Huck will come along and answer the question about the wiring connections for a Legacy vs SVX transmission you will be in good shape. Can the SVX TCU be used?
I do know that you need the rear dif from the Legacy, we are talking used here, and it is geared lower than the SVX so it should accelerate faster.
I do not know but it would be interesting to find out if a new transmission will fit and work in the SVX.
