i ran in fwd with a busted clutch pack for a few weeks.. i've heard stories of someone driving 1500 miles with the fwd fuse in.. it isn't GOOD for your tranny, but your transmission probably won't explode.. if it were my car, i'd only drive it in fwd for a maximum of three months before either replacing the transfer clutches or putting in a five-speed..

bear in mind that once you get your old auto tranny out of the car, you can rebuild it and probably sell it for somewhere between $1500 and $2000..
