they make a really neat tool called a hub tamer. I never used one til I started working at last shop I was at. Its like a mini press/slide hammer deal where u can do wheelbearings/hubs on the car
You may be able to rent one from a tool shop (they are pretty spendy to buy if you are just a backyard mechanic it takes about 10 bearing/hub jobs to equalize the cost)
