Nope you can't lower the seat backs from the trunk, unless the latch is broken or something. And disconnecting the battery kills power to the lock solenoids guaranteeing that they will stay in the exact same position as they were before. Myths busted!

It is however, possible to release the hood from the outside with the right tools and nimble enough hands.

Or, although this is probly 3/4ths the way impossible, you could reach the hood latch, open the hood and unhook the battery. this causes the doors to unlock (From what I know)
Hopefully you arent still locked out of the car.
