I received an email from a dear friend in Christchurch, which is long and gives a vivid description of what life is currently like there.


I wonder how many rescue teams have arrived from Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, & other "bailed-out" disaster areas (I'll give Haiti a pass); to give our good friends a hand. John, if your friend's plucky attitude is typical of Kiwis, they'll be back swilling wine, with more gusto than ever.
