Have you any reason to believe or definite information to prove that the door speakers are bigger and there is a separate amplifier? It just seems to me they would not go to the trouble of redesigning different door cards, but I could be wrong about that.

A person who might know what the system has is Hairy on the New Zealand forum. Hairy owns an extremely sweet S4 Burgundy SVX. These came fitted with Super Real sounds system as standard. If his Japanese import still had the original system, he might be able to give you details.

BTW, just in case you are interested, I have a Japanese Owner's Manual from the time I had the two Twin Turbo Legacys. The top end system available for the Legacy was called the

"Legacy Super Real Focus Sound System [Kenwood]"

Now unfortunately the manual does not go into deep detail, they say "This system has its own user manual with the system"

There is a diagram showing that it is a double din unit. The description they give is:
"This is a highly advanced system with CD player, 120 Watt High Power Amp, DSP, AM/FM Multi Electronic Tuner, Full Logic Control Cassette Deck & CD Changer Control."

Difficult to read but written on the face of the unit is:
"SUBARU Super Real Focus Sound System GX-99"

Maybe the SVX uses the same unit. The handbook covers the Legacy from 1993-1998

I think Hairys car still has the factory audio equipment in it? Both times when I saw it at the car sales yard it had been untouched and that was before he brought it
