In my opinion the Amadeus, at least the five door one, looks more like this car. Even though this car came later so it might have indeed copied the Amadeus.
I also read on a website which I am not sure if it is true or not that the 3 door Amadeus was being considered by Subaru to be put into production. And for the advertising Paul Hogan was going to be sponsoring the car. However, he laughed so hard when he first saw it, Subaru reconsidered.
