I'm sure this over'bearing' topic gets posted enough times to warrant its own separate forum, but I have my Subaru OEM wheel bearings, inner & outer seals, and axle nuts sitting on the desk next to me and am taking the car to my local shop at the end of the week. They're a big operation and they always do an excellent job, but I don't want to have this job done again for many years down the road, so I'm going to inform them the proper procedure:
1) Repack the bearings with hi-temp bearing grease
2) torque the axle nut to 150 ft/lbs
3) anything else I'm missing that a good shop would not know?
I supply my own parts and
then tell them how to do the work... they're gonna love me
-Thanks!
