Though I haven't tried it (yet), cerium oxide is supposed to be the product that one uses to buff the scratches out of glass. The kit is available at
www.jcwhitney.com It comes with the cerium oxide paste and a felt wheel that fits in a drill driver. Your driver must be adjustable to low RPM's.
If you do this, make sure you either remove and clean your inboard stabilizers, or replace them with new, or, your problem will come right back.
