in the 1st generation legacy (90-94), the only engine was the 2.2L. there was also a turbo version available from 91 to 94, i believe. the 2.2L was also standard in the 2nd generation (95-99). i beilieve the outback, Lsi trim, and 2.5gt models received the 2.5L engine starting in 97.
