It's possible, but from my own experience and what I've read it's common for the security mod to "expire" at some point after being depowered. The same thing happened to mine following major service. Good luck with it too! I purchased a new module at subaruparts.com, didn't work either, and another replacement shipped from them also left me without alarm and auto-locking. None of the three modules will even go into program mode. Thinking about going with a non-factory set-up.
