Correction: It's an Impreza. I still don't see the confusion. If it needs a clutch find another car. I like benebob's options. Find a nicer car for $4500, or offer $3000 and see what happens. With a VERY common car like this, there will be plenty of room to haggle. Again, my point is valid; if it was a specialty car, it's what you are willing to pay. For something so common, make a decent offer, but don't expect the guy to give it to you for $2000.
